CHEMICAL SAFETY: PROTECTING OURSELVES AND OUR ENVIRONMENT

The ACS Division of Chemical Health and Safety (DCHAS) and ACS Division of Chemical Education (CHEMED) are sponsoring an online 3 credit intercollegiate course for students who have taken General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. The course will be offered during the Fall 2004 semester (or term).

The course will be offered at each of the participating schools with some local classes and online activities. Instructors at each of the participating schools will be actively involved as will their students. Assignments, examinations (if any) and grading will be handled by each participating school.

Instructors interested in having their school participate should contact Scott Van Bramer (Widener University, svanbram@science.widener.edu, 610-499-4516). Gary Trammell (University of Illinois at Springfield, trammell.gary@uis.edu, 217-206-7344) is Chair of the course Organizing Committee.

A CCCE sub-committee is discussing the future direction and organization of our on-line chemistry courses. If you have any thoughts you would like to share on the subject of the on-line courses, please feel free to email one of the committee members. The members of the sub-committee are:
